Guyana has two main national symbols; The Coat Of Arm and The Flag Of Guyana.
Coat of Arms:
The Guyana Coat of Arms includes a crest of an Amerindian head-dress. This symbolizes the indigenous people of Guyana. The crest is also called the Cacique’s Crown. There are two diamonds and it represents the mining industry of Guyana.
There are two Jaguars that are holding a shield, a pick axe, sugar cane, and a stalk of rice. These all represent the industry of mining, sugar and the rice industries. The shield is decorated by the country national flower, the Victorian Lily, the three wavy lines represents the three-main river of Guyana; Essequibo, Berbice and Demerara river and the national bird the Canje Pheasant. On the scroll at the bottom is Guyana national motto “One people, One Nation, One Destiny”
