Guyana, also known as the Cooperative Republic of Guyana is located on the north coast of South America. It is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, Suriname on the east, Brazil on the south, and Venezuela on the west. It’s known as the land of many waters. Guyana is 83,000 square miles (214,696 km)

Guyana is divided into three counties namely; Essequibo, Berbice and Demerara. The counties are named after the three major rivers in Guyana. Physically, the landscape can be categorized into; the coastal plain, the hilly sand and clay belt, the interior savannas, and the forested highlands. Most of the population lives on the coastal plain.
